Lt T.N.H. Stretch, MC and Bar circa 1916 after whom The Thomas Stretch MC and Bar Sword of Honour was named in 2006. The sword is presented annually for exemplary conduct and performance of duty by a Second Class Staff Cadet member of UNSWR.

Captain L.V. Tolnay holding the trophy named after him in 1960 in recognition of his services as the Regiment's Training Officer. Captain Tolnay had previously been a Colonel in the Hungarian Army during World War Two.

The Tolnay Trophy was donated by officers of the Regiment for presentation annually to the candidate scoring the highest marks for first appointment to commissioned rank . ( Regt Archives )
